Christian School Online vs. Traditional Christian School

The traditional Christian school has been around for many generations, and has seen a recent resurgence as a safe place for children to attend classes and get a very good education along with teachings from the Bible for well-rounded childhood schooling. Some of the best schools are traditional Christian schools, but for many students, it is not available such as those that live in more rural areas of the country unless they are boarded at the school, which can be very traumatic for both the student and the parents alike.

Another way to get a good Christian education is to attend a Christian school online. There are many advantages and still disadvantages to this method of schooling.

Of the advantages, the greatest is the teachings of the Bible being woven into the education that is received. This is generally the most obvious reason people turn to a Christian school online. They wish for their children to have a better education that includes the Word of God. Attending Christian school online not only does this, but many of them are self-paced, meaning that the student can actually get ahead and graduate early if they apply themselves.

In rural settings, often there is not a traditional Christian school to attend and that leaves parents having to choose between home schooling which many are uncomfortable with, sending the child to a boarding school which is even more taxing, or having their children attend Christian school online.

If a child who is attending Christian school online has a problem with their homework that their parents cannot assist with, it is an email away to find answers. This is both a disadvantage and an advantage. Email can take a while to get a response, but generally they can get a response nearly every hour of the day or evening.

Traditional Christian schools can be very expensive with the purchase of uniforms and tuition, not to mention room and board if the need be. Online Christian school is much less expensive tuition wise, there are no uniforms to buy, and your child is home safe with his or her family.

The social ramifications of Christian school online are not as great as they could be if the student was not attending church functions. In non-Christian online school settings, children can often be under socialized. The Christian school online counteracts this because the parents already attend church and various church functions that give their children more socialization skills that are approved by both the church and the parents unlike the public school system where children can easily find ways to get into trouble.
